Funding Legal Expenses
At Yarwood Holmes Law Ltd we recognise that funding legal expenses can be a worry.
We offer a free consultation where funding is discussed with you, along with providing you with initial advice at your consultation.
We have a Legal Aid contract with the Legal Aid Agency – we may be able to offer you Legal Aid dependant on your circumstances and the nature of your case.
Within Care Proceedings, parents with Parental Responsibility are automatically eligible for Legal Aid in almost all Care Proceedings. Legal Aid may also be available to other family members subject to their financial circumstances. Legal Aid is also often available for Local Authority involvement pre-proceedings (such as Public Law Outline matters) but in some instances is means tested.
Generally, there is no cost to you to receiving expert advice and assistance should you find yourself in need of legal advice at a police station. If you are then charged with committing a criminal offence you may be eligible for Legal Aid much will depend on the crime you are accused of and the impact it has upon you.
We will ensure that where there is a possibility you may qualify for Legal Aid, we will undertake a full assessment to determine your eligibility.
If you do not qualify for Legal Aid, we offer a range of funding options for you in an effort to keep costs down – we offer fixed fees on the majority of work we cover and we can offer payment plans in certain circumstances.
Importantly we will provide you with an initial estimate of costs you may incur in your case and we will provide you with regular updates as your case progresses so that at all times you are aware of the legal fees you are incurring.
