Crown Court

Whilst all criminal offences start in the Magistrates’ Court and most cases remain at the Magistrates Court, crimes that are considered to be more serious or complex will be sent for trial at the Crown Court. Additionally, if the offence is of a type where the defendant can elect to have the case dealt with at the Crown Court then the case can also be heard in the Crown Court.
