Online Wills

Our online service offers you a convenient and cost-effective way of having your Will prepared by an experienced solicitor. You will be assigned to one of our private client solicitors who will help guide you and discuss your wishes and requirements to ensure provisions are made for your family, friends and loved ones.

How It Works

Fill in the online form below to start the ball rolling. A member of our Private Client team will contact you at a time that is convenient for you to discuss your wishes and provide you with advice based on your circumstances.

Your Will is drafted and is then sent to you for your approval. Once finalised, we can send your Will via email or post for you to sign in the presence of two independent witnesses. We can advise you on the best way to ensure your Will is legally valid.

Four Simple Steps

1. Complete The Online Form

Our simple 5 minute form will allow us to gain an understanding of your requirements and wishes.

2. We'll Be In Touch

Our experienced Team will be in touch within 72 hours to discuss your Will and provide any advice or discuss concerns.

3. Documents Ready

We'll prepare all the necessary documents and either post or email these to you for your approval. Upon your approval, we will either send your Will to you or we can arrange an appointment at our office where you can sign your Will in the presence of two independent witnesses.

4. Free Will Storage

We will hold your Original Will in our safe custody, free of charge.

How Much Does It Cost?

We offer a fixed fee service for the preparation of Wills, which are outlined below.

The cost of a single, straightforward Will is £195 plus VAT. Mirror Wills are £275 plus VAT.

Mirror Wills cover couples and partners, and we will take into account the assets and wishes of both parties. If we envisage any additional charges being incurred over and above the fixed fee, we will discuss this with you during your free initial consultation. Depending on the size of your estate, and the complexity of your situation we will be able to recommend the most appropriate way forward for you and your needs.

How Can I Be Sure My Will Is Legally Valid?

For a will to be valid:

  • it must be in writing, signed by you, and witnessed by two people
  • you must have the mental capacity to make the will and understand the effect it will have
  • you must have made the will voluntarily and without pressure from anyone else.

You must sign your will in the presence of two independent witnesses, who must also sign it in your presence – so all three people should be in the room together when each one signs. If the will is signed incorrectly, it is not valid. Our expert team of Solicitors will advise and assist you every step of the way to ensure these steps are followed correctly and that your Will is valid.

What Makes You Different?

A lot of online companies that are offering Wills are not legally trained or experienced. These services often use templated ‘off the shelf’ Wills where someone will fill in the blanks with your details. In a lot of cases, a lot of the services are based offshore, and this can result in a poorly drafted Will, which may then cause issues when this is executed after your death. At Holmes Family Law, all Wills are prepared by our team of experienced Family Lawyers. As part of the service, we can also advise and provide advice around your wishes, and answer any questions you may have – something not often offered by an online service.

Is The Service Secure?

This page is fully encrypted and your details remain secure at all times. We will never sell or use your data except for your Will preparation. For more information, please see our Privacy Policy.
